[SOLVED]How to play Jidaigeki Remake with a controller?

Whenever I play Jidaigeki Remake, I try to change to controls from keyboard to a joystick, but I can never switch it to the joystick(JS, or at least that's what I think the abbreviation is.) and it's a pain for me playing a beat 'em up with a keyboard.

Any Suggestions?

Found out what the problem was, I had to mess around with the config.txt to figure it out.

After putting in random numbers everywhere, I realized that the KEYPLACE is for both keyboard and controller . I still have no clue the what function JOYSTICKPLACE serves for, but it turned the first number from a -1 to a 0.
Also, Xbox 360 controllers and any other controllers that don't have a switch that can turn off analog are no-nos, Jidaigeki just refuses to cooperate with analog sticks.

To bad I have a ps3 controller and it works good.

Actually, it is possible to play it with an analog stick, but it's SUPER buggy, a single motion is like a double-tap and was kinda infuriating for me.

Well that analog stick probles is for ps3 too in any game because of the controller axis, is very hard to set, but as long as I have the d-pad is good enough.
